Invariably I get asked this question, can anyone learn to be sensitive. The straightforward answer is, yes; even a person that is as sensitive as a rock can learn to enhance their Psi skills. The kicker is being open-minded enough to try, in good faith, to work through the exercises, and to do your due diligence in the training cycles. In my Introduction to Psychometry class, one of the first things I talk about is the proverbial “open door”. That is what one has to take into consideration when deciding if they want to step into the world of being or becoming a sensitive.
I know it sounds cool that you talk to ghosts or feel their presence or see them walking, but what you may not be thinking about is all the extra “stuff” that comes with being a sensitive. Opening up your abilities to communicate with those that have died, also opens up the “door” to other supernatural activity. Let me give you some examples; I have a friend that couldn’t sleep at night because all the dead people would come and talk to him while he was trying to sleep. He would put on headphones and play music to try and drown out the voices or tell them to go away. For me, it was the visitations at night as a teen that would scare the heck out of me. It could be as simple as going out with friends and I would see a person that no else sees, but when I say hey, all of my friends were like, “who are you talking to?”
Then there are the negative energies, or bad guys as I call them, that try and talk to you or subtlety try and influence your decision making. That is one of the major reasons why we train those who work with us or take our classes to cleanse their auras and to shield themselves. Check out my previous two blogs for the basics of cleansing and shielding.
Basically, what I am saying is that you need to make sure that you are ready to open that door because once it is open, the level of activity picks up. That said, if you find that talking to dead people isn’t your thing, or you do not want to deal with the negative energies out there, there is a process to close the door. But know that is something that can be triggered to open again by your own actions or a traumatic event that happens around you or loved ones.
So, look at the pros and cons before stepping into this area of investigating the paranormal. Understand all the ups and downs of becoming a sensitive. For me, it has been a blessing as I get to help those, both living and dead, to find some peace and resolution in life…and more often than not, I get to kick some bad guy’s asses!
